Late Night Love Letter

My love,

Sweetest, purest, love of mine,

While you lay sleeping on the other end of these airwaves my heart flutters, and mind races-

I run through every memory we've created, every laugh we've shared, every tear we've held one another through, and every plan we've made, and I buzz with love and excitement!

My love for your runs deeper than the depth of the uncharted sea,

It shines brighter than the undiscovered stars in far away galaxies-

It is stronger than the force of the most powerful tsunami,  

And is more peaceful than the lull of crickets on a cool summer night.

My love for you is anchored in faith, trust, desire, passion, curiosity, understanding, patience, grace, anticipation, and discovery.

I will wind through every hallway that makes up the castle of your soul,

Until I've found every hidden passageway,  every precious treasure,  and every tucked away secret.

I will gaze at the art of you, with loving eyes, an open soul, and a caring heart-

Ravenous for all that you embody-

I will wrangle every chariot, and ride with you until the end of time and beyond.

So Damn Right

Watching the stars tuck you in,

After we stay up way too late,

And your body finally gives in, 

To the depths of the night,

Is one of my favorite things to see and feel.

The final, expansive exhale,

Before your breathing gets steady and shallow-

Watching each and every muscle completely melt into the bed,

And into my arms, and body-

The soft smile that graces your lips as I kiss your forehead,

The little twitches your body makes as you start to dream,

And the heat your body transfers to mine,

As I pull you closer-

I could drown in those moments and be consumed by happiness,

Peace,

Stillness-

Because every moment with you,

Even the ones in the dead of the night,

Feel,

Love cascades from my head to my toes,

Drenching my lips with the taste of every single "I love you" we share,

Holding onto every word, like every breath in my chest-

Sitting here thinking about how,

For so long,

Something can be so wrong,

And you can't quite put your finger on it...

Then suddenly,

Somebody comes into your life-

Who changes everything. 

Clarity rushes in like tidal waves,

Love becomes abundantly overflowing,

Judgement falls to the wayside, 

And safety in this pure love,

Unconditional love,

Becomes your Home.

That I am finally Home,

Coffee for Two

Early morning espresso, 

Delusional,

No sleep-

Staring out this window,

Wishing you were here with me-

The clouds,

They call our names-

And ask our hands to dance,

And soon enough you'll be with me,

Above forbidden lands-

But here I sit,

Red eye complete,

And wait for my next flight-

This coffee taste,

Is bittersweet,

For your arms, are where I long to be.

Every single moment,

I thought of what it would be like,

To have you by my side-

So,

This morning, 

As I wait for my connecting flight, 

I'll drink coffee for two,

And send my love to you.
