A Piece

Simply put,

You are a piece of my soul.

I've searched the Earth,

High and low-

Not knowing exactly what I was looking for. 

A sense of longing always left me wanting more-

As if I was trying to find my home,

The place where I belonged. 

You,

An Angel,

Came tumbling into my life-

Unexpected, 

Fiercely passionate and wild-

Gentle and strong.

Playful and curious,

Pure.

And then it hit me,

Like an unexpected summer downpour -

I found myself dancing in the warmth,

Standing in the rain with you,

And basking in the sun and rainbow that followed

My love has grown,

At a rate I can't explain,

And have stopped trying to comprehend-

Because you, my love,  are right-

You are my person.

For the first time in my life I have not a single doubt-

You give me all that I've been subconsciously searching for-

I give you all that you've wanted and needed,

And together we create the most beautiful piece of art with our love.

The final masterpiece is ours to craft together,

Carefully choosing each color and pattern that suits the seasons we go through together. 

Each brush stroke dancing along the canvas we call "life," carving out our path forward as one.

You can rest now,

You are safe,

You are loved,

You are home-
